We are immensely proud of our Marbled ceramic Collection which took years of prep work before launch. This collection brings together the classic look of marbled pottery with a wonderful contemporary twist. Here is a brief description of how this collection is made.
Two different colours clay are mixed together until there is a swirl effect in the mixture. In the solid for of mixing the process is similar to the making of puff pastry there the dough and butter are continually folded into each other.
Some of our items are more challenging to create so a cast mould is created and a liquid mix of the clay is used instead.
The result is a light coloured marble, which after firing in the kiln acquires richer, deeper coloured glaze.
